Courtney was raised by her parents in different phases of their divorce when she was seven years old. She has a sister who is older than her Jennifer who is an executive from the world of advertising. She was a student at Menlo-Atherton high School as well as Tamalpais High School. She was also a part of the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley while attending high school.
